Can I have an email address which both stores and forwards mail?
Applies to: Grid System
Yes, here is an example of one way to do it:
Suppose have a mailbox user call 'mbox', which you want to receive firstname.lastname@example.org, and you want also want that mail sent to a email@example.com.
Here's how you do it in Modwest OnSite:
First, under Mailboxes & Addresses, ensure that your 'mbox' box receives just firstname.lastname@example.org -- NOT email@example.com.
Then, create a Forwarding Rule for firstname.lastname@example.org which delivers to: email@example.com,firstname.lastname@example.org -- note those are two addresses, separated by a comma.
Now any messages addressed to email@example.com will both be delivered to your Modwest-hosted mailbox, and the remote destination.
