FTP

ID #78

I can login with FTP but I can't see anything and then after a while it times out.

Applies to: Grid System

To fix this problem generally caused by being behind a firewall, find the setting in your FTP program for "Passive Mode" or "PASV Mode" and turn it on.

Also, be sure that the hostname that you are connecting to is: ftp.yourdomain.com or ftp.modwest.com

If you're using FTP on the command line, you can get into passive mode by typing PASV.

Because FTP passes your username & password in plain text, it is highly recommended that you configure your FTP client application to connect to Modwest's FTP server via the 'SFTP' method, instead of plain 'FTP'.
